Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "Travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's", the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and most prestigious awards program in the global travel industry. World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. With thousands of votes cast by travel professionals from 167,000 travel agencies in over 160 countries across the globe, winning a World Travel Award has become one of the highest accolades a travel product can receive.

As a World Travel Award Nominee, Finest Hotels of the World will be put forward into the final round of voting. The official online voting form is available to 167,000 registered travel agents and professionals worldwide, who submit votes independently via the World Travel Awards website. The results will then determine the prestigious winners at the World Travel Awards Europe Ceremony on 17^th October at Marriott Praia D'El Rey Golf & Beach Resort in Obidos, Portugal.

Greece’s Leading Travel Personality
 

It is our great pleasure to announce that Mr. Jimmy Sofios, Managing Director of "The Finest Hotels of the World" has been nominated by the 15^th World Travel Awards, voted by travel agents worldwide for the award category Greece’s Leading Travel Personality.

The awards will be remitted during the Official Europe Awards Ceremony, in presence of official representatives from Europe’s top companies such as Luxury Hotels, Airline Companies, Car Rental, Cruise, Yachts etc.

The event will take place on the country’s largest island, Crete, one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations.

The winners will be announced at the official Europe Awards Ceremony in Crete, which will take place in AquaCity Poprad, a luxurious resort in Slovakia, on Wednesday 15^th of October, 2008.

Αγαπητέ κ. Δημήτρη Σοφίο,

Μετά την επιτυχημένη διενέργεια των Περιφερειακών Εκλογών, έγινε την Παρασκευή 18 Ιουλίου 2008 όπως προβλεπόταν, η καταμέτρηση των ψηφοδελτίων και των ψήφων που πήρε ο κάθε υποψήφιος.

Με βάση τα αποτελέσματα της καταμέτρησης εκλέγονται οι παρακάτω συνάδελφοι σε κάθε Νομό και Περιφέρεια:

Οι εκλεγμένοι Νομαρχιακοί και Περιφερειακοί Σύμβουλοι αφού συνέλθουν σε σώμα, θα συγκροτήσουν το Περιφερειακό Συμβούλιο (Π.Σ.) στις 13 Περιφέρειες.

Η σύνθεση κάθε Περιφερειακού Συμβουλίου θα κοινοποιηθεί στις Τοπικές Αρχές, Διοικήσεις Οργανισμών και θα επιδιωχθεί η συμμετοχή τους στα τοπικά όργανα που έχουν σχέση με τον τουρισμό.

Ευχόμαστε στους εκλεγέντες συναδέλφους καλή επιτυχία στο έργο που αναλαμβάνουν προκειμένου να αντιμετωπίσουμε τα οξυμένα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει ο κλάδος ειδικά στην Περιφέρεια.
