Red Travel offers a new travel concept; an innovative approach to the self-drive tour offering absolute luxury combined with the ultimate Gran Turismo experience.

Red Travel Tours are unique journeys, individually created for you to fully experience the Italian Way of Life. Each journey is a sublime blend of art, fashion, architecture, gastronomy and spectacular scenery.

Our guests will feel part of a real Ferrari team, enjoying the opportunity to personally drive the very latest models. Travelling for kilometres, accelerating through the steep, winding roads of Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, along the route of the legendary Mille Miglia race, putting their driving skills to the ultimate test.

As a relaxing contrast to the exhilaration of driving a Ferrari, our journeys include wellness programmes at the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort, a world-class spa hotel located in the midst of the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia.

Behind the scenes, Red Travel staff take complete care of the Ferraris. Every morning, our guests will find their car at the entrance of the hotel, clean and polished, refuelled and fully checked, ready to begin another day of exciting driving through further dazzling landscapes.

• Meeting with your Red Travel Tour Director.
  
  
• Welcome coffee in the exclusive location of the hotel followed by a dedicated Ferrari briefing, with your car scenically displayed in front of the hotel.

  Your private Tour Director, an expert Ferrari driver, will clarify the finer details of the controls of your Ferrari, he will introduce you into the world of Ferrari, explaining the differences between the various models (Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari 430 Scuderia and 430 Spider, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti) and peculiarities of the engines (8-cylinder or 12-cylinder), above all how to handle the F1 paddle-gear shifting behind the steering wheel.

• Departure by Ferrari towards Como Lake.
  
  
• After a short Ferrari practice-drive, you will leave by Ferrari heading towards Como Lake. Our Tour Director leads the way at the wheel of his Alfa Romeo Brera 3.2, guiding your Ferrari along the panoramic roads of one of Italy’s most beautiful lakes. During the whole journey, the Ferrari and the Tour Director’s Alfa Romeo will be constantly in touch by mobile radio system.

  Pleasant drive along the panoramic and enchanting roads of the Como Lake. Whilst driving, our guests will be able to enjoy the outstanding scenario offered by the Lake, characterized for a beautiful natural landscape that offers an overwhelming feast for the eyes. The roads carefully selected by Red Travel ensure maximum driving pleasure while enjoying the beautiful landscape of Como Lake and its surroundings.

• 11.30: Halt in Cernobbio, an elegant tourist village known worldwide for its villas, for a drink at glamorous Villa d’Este and to allow the switch between drivers and passengers, if they wish to.

  Set on the shores of Como Lake, Villa d’Este is located in one of the most important crossroads between Italy and Northern Europe. As Herb Caen stated about the Villa, « the precise location of heaven on earth has never been established but it may very well be right here.»

• 13.30: Arrival in Bellagio, with its many suburbs scattered on the hills overlooking both the southeastern and southwestern branches of Como Lake.

Afternoon

• 15.00: Departure and driving back towards Lecco along the scenic roads of Como Lake.
  
  
• Discovery of the picturesque and breathtaking panorama offered by the Lake, enriched by pure driving pleasure on an amazing succession of wonderful sights!

  During the tour will be scheduled a halt in Lecco around 16.00 on the route for a short visit and to allow the switch between driver and passenger and for a break. Lecco, the famous scenario that inspired “The Betrothed” (I Promessi Sposi) composed by Italian novelist Alessandro Manzoni, lies at the end of the southeastern branch of Como Lake.
