Description
Following an extensive two-year renovation of the Paphos Beach Hotel, the town’s first ever seaside hotel which first opened in 1972, Thanos Hotels launched Almyra in March 2003. The rooms have been enlarged and redesigned, and the signature suites, aptly named Kyma Suites, meaning ‘wave’ in Greek, feature rooftop terraces offering breathtaking views of the sea and the harbour, which are candle-lit at night. The property’s two freshwater pools were rebuilt to include one especially for children and the four restaurants reflect the new philosophy of Almyra. The executive chef of the gastronomic restaurants has introduced a new creative Japanese-Mediterranean fusion menu.
Families are an integral part of Almyra’s contemporary seaside resort philosophy. The hotel boasts a dedicated children's club with extensive facilities and special children's menus. Almyra's Baby Go Lightly service offers parents the opportunity to order every manner of baby item on-line in advance of traveling, saving plenty of space in their suitcase. Almyra’s location means that guests have the advantage of being close to the sea, while also being within walking distance of the shops, castle, the house of Dionysos with its unparalleled Roman mosaics, three golf courses and many other attractions in and around the Pafos area. Almyra is set within eight acres of landscaped gardens right on the harbour front.
History
In a land steeped in mythology, a metamorphosis has taken place. Almyra represents the transformation of the Pafos Beach Hotel, built in 1973 as the first hotel in Pafos legendary birthplace of Aphrodite.

Mr, Mrs & 7 month baby Malek
"Me casa su casa..."
"Great staff, good child-friendly hotel and our room-with-a-terrace had an excellent view of the Med. Location is not actually on any sort of sandy beach (as the name implies) but it is situated well for shopping, sight-seeing and restaurants. No taxis needed at all as everything is a walk away! Our room was kitted up with all the baby essentials: bath-tub, walker, bouncing chair and cot. The beds were large and comfy. Baby pool has an awning too so great to see my little one 'swim' without fear of sunburn. Next time I stay ( and I'm sure I will return here), I will splash out a bit more and go for the Junior Suite - larger room with a lovely sofa. My only upset was at departure - I elected not to go for the 45Euro taxi ride that we had paid on arrival. (actual fare was 20Euro on the way back to Paphos airport).. but staff seemed reluctant to even go out and hail a taxi?! Surely a phone-call does not cost 25Euro? Not sure why surcharge was so high. Despite this 'blip', my thanks especially to Elena (breakfast), Natalie (Guest Services) and Stelios (Manager) for making our stay pleasant, easy and wonderful."
